Fiorentina and Ghana midfielder Alfred Duncan has dismissed claims that he failed to show up for Ghana’s World Cup qualifiers due to an injury he is nursing.
Duncan was named as part of Milovan Rajevac’s 32 man squad for the double header of qualifiers against Zimbabwe but had to withdraw from the squad.
His withdrawal generated controversy when he featured for club side Fiorentina in their matchweek 7 encounter against Napoli after allegedly serving notice of an injury.
In a bid to set the record straight regarding his fitness status, Duncan took to his twitter to state in clear terms that he is not injured but agreed that there might have been some lapses in communication with the head coach of the team.
With Regards to my absence from the national team I spoke with the head coach of the blackstars but there was a miscommunication somewhere AND I didn’t say I was injured. Moreover if I want to refuse a call up I will do so and not by faking injury. Online bloggers academy INT.

He has played in Fiorentina’s last five matches and has been ever present in those outings.
