‘Your support is key’ – Hearts of Oak tells supporters ahead of GPL opener against Legon Cities

Hearts Of Oak have issued a rallying call to their fans ahead of the Ghana Premier League season opener on Sunday.

The 2020/21 league champions host Legon Cities at the Accra Sports Stadium hoping to get their title defence off in style after the recent continental disappointment.

In a tweet on Wednesday, Hearts of Oak said they couldn’t wait to have the fans back in the stadium supporting the side against Legon Cities.

The season is about to start and we are looking forward to seeing you πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘¦β€πŸ‘¦. Your support is key πŸ‘Š.

Hearts’ exit from the CAF Champions League last Sunday at the hands of Moroccan side, Wydad AC was a disappointing end to a campaign that started promisingly.

The Phobians got past CL Kamsar of Guinea in the preliminary round before a 1-0 win over WAC in Accra set up a potential shock.

However, a humiliating 6-1 loss to the Moroccans ruined any chance of that and set the Ghanaian side into the Confederation Cup.

Hearts will be hoping their domestic campaign is more successful as they commence the defence of their league and FA Cup titles.
