Hasaacas Ladies’ Evelyn Badu has been named the best player of the maiden edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League hosted in Egypt.

The 19-year-old scored 5 goals in the course of the tournament and takes home the award as consolation after missing out of winning the main trophy after Hasaacas’ 2-0 defeat to South African side, Mamelodi Sundowns.

The midfielder had an impressive tournament and started the competition in a spectacularly, scoring a brace against Malabo Kings in Hasaacas Ladies’ 3-1 win.

Badu then went on to bag another brace against AS Mande of Mali in the second group game of the competition but did not score in Hasmal’s 2-2 draw against Wadi Degla.

The forward-thinking midfielder who was on red-hot form found the back of the net in Hasaacas Ladies’ 2-1 win over Moroccan side, ASFAR in the semifinals.

Despite her brilliant display in the course of the tournament, she could not help the Hasmal Ladies to a win to make history as the first team to lift the CAF Women’s Champions League.
