GFA working hard to promote football despite difficulties – Samuel Anim Addo [VIDEO]

Executive Committee Member of Ghana Football Association, Samuel Anim Addo says the FA has rolled out plans to help develop the sport in the country since assuming office.

On October 25, 2019, Kurt Okraku was voted into office as the new GFA President, filling the seat left by Kwesi Nyantakyi who resigned in 2018 following revelations against him in an exposé by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

Two years into his tenure, the GFA have led a number of projects such as “Bring Back The Love”, Women’s Super Cup and U-17 Champions League.

The new administration since filling the void left by Nyantakyi has also started renovation projects at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence among others.

“All the money we got from the FIFA World Cup was taken by the state. That aside, when we got money from the FIFA Forward Programme, by someone’s mistake, some facilities were not renovated. We weren’t in charge of the GFA at that time and we therefore we could not have done anything about it,” Sammy Anim Addo said on Football Made in Ghana.

“When we came into office, we have been able to start some renovation and have decided to turn Prampram into a sports village and as such we have made some key industry players in various board members, so we can achieve our targets. All these are things that have never been done before. We have brought in so many programmes like the KGL Colts League among other key initiatives, so you can see that there is a vision, and we want to grow what is in our reach,” he added.
