Hasaacas Ladies clinched their fifth trophy of the year when they defeated Ampem Darkoa Ladies 5-4 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in regulation time in the maiden edition of the First Lady’s Cup at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, December 10, 2021.

Jafaru Rahama’s second half goal cancelled Sonia Opoku’s first half strike in a keenly contested game as both teams once again battled for the bragging rights as the best female club in Ghana.

The Sekondi-based club started the game brightly in the first 5 minutes but Ampem Darkoa grew into the game in a fairly balanced match.

In a ran of play, Sonia Opoku sweetly connected from a through pass, slightly lifting the ball beyond the reach of Grace Banwaa.

Hasaacas Ladies grew stronger in the second half and got rewarded for their persistent attacks through Jafaru Rahama to send the game into a penalty shoot-out.

In the penalty shoot-out, carried the day, winning 5-4 despite missing the first spot-kick.

Hasaacas Ladies’ win over Ampem Darkoa is a historic quintuple for any Ghanaian club.
