Ghana Premier League champions, Accra Hearts of Oak have confirmed that head coach Samuel Boadu has been discharged after he was rushed to a hospital in Elmina after suffering from an illness during the game between the Phobians and Sharks on December 15, 2021.

A Gladson Awako debut goal ensured the Phobians recorded their first win of the season as they edged Elmina Sharks 1-0 in Elmina in their fifth game of the season.

Boadu started the game in charge of the Phobians but had to abandon the match after he was taken ill.

This is the second time Samuel Boadu has had a challenge with his health while on coaching duties in a league game.

In January 2020, Coach Boadu was rushed to the hospital while working as head coach of Medeama SC during a league game against Ashantigold SC.

In a club statement, Accra Hearts of Oak stated that “Coach Samuel Boadu has been discharged from the hospital and responding positively to treatment”

It was not communicated when the Ghanaian will return to training with the Phobian players or resume touchline duties for the club.
