Betway AFCON diaries: Algeria v Equatorial Guinea preview

After failing to grab a win in their first game of the competition, Algeria will aim to make amends as they prepare for a battle against Equatorial Guinea on Sunday.

The opposition will also be aiming to get their campaign up and running after suffering a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Ivory Coast in their opening game.

With a place in the round of 16 still at stake, fireworks will be expected at the Stade Omnisport de Douala.

Algeria to get their campaign running

Algeria were disappointing in the first game against Sierra Leone, recording a 0-0 draw. However, this game will likely be the one to get the defending champions up and running.

Riyad Mahrez came to the party in the previous AFCON and will be expected to cause a lot of problem for the upcoming opposition.

Also, the likes of Slimani and Feghouli have the required quality to turn any game on its head.

The odds

Betway favours Algeria to win this game. Their odds are currently priced at 1.29 whilst that of Equatorial Guinea currently stands at 12.00. A draw has been priced at 4.60.
