2022 U-20 WC Qualifiers: Black Princesses defeat Uganda 2-1

Ghana’s Black Princesses beat Uganda 2-1 in the first leg of the 2022 U-20 World Cup Qualifiers at the St. Mary’s Stadium in Uganda on Saturday afternoon.

Salamatu Abdulai opened the scoring for the Princesses in the 20th minute before Grace Anima scored a free-kick in the 48th minute to give them a two goal lead.

However, Uganda Captain, Fauzia Najjemba pulled one back for her side from the spot in the 83rd minute.

The second leg will be played in Ghana at the Cape Coast Stadium in February.

Ben Fokuo’s side reached the third round of qualifiers after eliminating Zambia, following a 1-0 aggregate win.

The Black Princesses have qualified for the last five FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup and will be hoping to make it to the 2022 edition.

The 2022 U-20 FIFA Women’s World Cup will take place in Costa Rica from August 10 to August 28.
