Russell Westbrook

Former NBA MVP, Russell Westbrook, is not having the easiest of times at the Los Angeles Lakers.

Despite an impressive stat line of 18.7 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 8.1 assists in 42 games so far, Westbrook has earned the ire of Lakers fans and the mockery of the supporters of other teams this season.

The Point Guard is shooting 28.8% from three this season, 65.6% from the line and 43.7% from the field.

His form in recent games has led to calls from some sections for him to be traded.

In his last six games, Rus has an average of 12.8 points on 31.8% shooting, with 00.0% from three.

Against the Sacramento Kings on Thursday morning Westbrook was yet again ice cold from the field, making only two of his 14 shots and missing all five of his three-point attempts.

Even the Kings Arena took a shot at him, with him being named the “Ice Cold Player Of The Game” on the big screen.

The trolls continued on social media after the Lakers side, which also included Lebron James, fell 125-116 to the Kings.

One video showing Westbrook’s various airballs this season for the Lakers was particularly savage.

The Lakers have lost their last two games and are now 21-21 with 40 matches to play in the regular season, and now lie 8th in the West.
