FC Basel sign 18 year old Essiam from Berekum Chelsea

Swiss giants, FC Basel have announced the signing of midfielder Emmanuel Essiam from Ghana Premier League side, Berekum Chelsea.

The 18 year old has signed a four and a half year deal with the 20-time Swiss champions and is expected to be there till 2026.

FC Basel announced the deal on January 3, across all their social media platforms.

The Ghana U-20 international, in his first interview with his new club, said he immediately made up his mind as soon as he heard of the interest from FC Basel.

”The first time I heard FC Basel was interested in me, I was excited and it was a yes for me already,” he said.

Essiam was part of the Black Satellites squad that won the U-20 AFCON in 2021.
