Asante Kotoko coach Prosper Nartey eyes Black Stars job

Kumasi Asante Kotoko head coach, Prosper Nartey, has welcome calls for him to be given the Black Stars job on a long term basis.

Former GFA chairman, Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe, has asked the current administration to consider handing the job to the Kotoko trainer, who has masterminded a great start to the Ghana Premier League season with the Porcupine Warriors.

Former Ghana international Otto Addo has been given the Black Stars job on an interim basis to supervise the 2022 World Cup play-off match against Nigeria in March, with a decision on who gets the job on a permanent basis to be taken after that.

Speaking at a forum organized by GTV, Tamakloe said Ogum would do a good job with the national team if he’s given the chance.

Reacting to Nyaho Tamakloe’s remarks, the former University of Cape Coast lecturer, Nartey Ogum, said he will be ready when the opportunity comes.

“He has sat from afar and per what he has seen and knowing the dynamics that go into succeeding at the Black Stars as a former FA boss, that is what is making him take that informed position about me,” he said.

“It’s a national call and when the day comes and I’m available, I will rise up to the call,” Ogum said.
