GPLwk16: Great Olympics beat Hearts in Mantse Derby; Dreams suffer home defeat

New Hearts of Oak signing, Sulley Muntari made his debut for the team in their 1-0 defeat at the hands of Accra rivals Great Olympics in the Ga Mantse derby at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Yussif Razak’s 31st minute goal was enough to give Annor Walker’s men all three points.

Elsewhere, Berekum Chelsea beat Dreams FC 1-0 at the Theatre of Dreams in Dawu courtesy a goal from Kelvin Obeng just before half-time. (45+3).

In Sunday’s other games, Bibiani Gold Stars were 1-0 winners over Aduana Stars, Elsewhere, WAFA were held to a goalless draw away to Techiman Eleven Wonders.

Karela United were also held to a 1-1 draw at home to Legon Cities, Jonah Attuquaye and Emmanuel Boakye scored for their respective teams.

In Saturday’s games,

Accra Lions defeated Medeama 1-0 to hand them their fourth league defeat at the Accra Sports Stadium.

King Faisal were 2-0 winners over Real Tamale United at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, with goals from David Oppong and Enoch Morrison.

On Friday, 

Bechem United continued their impressive form in the Ghana Premier League with a 2-0 win over AshantiGold at the Nana Gyeabour park.

Augustine Okrah and Emmanuel Annor scored to hand all three points to the home side, moving them to 2nd place, within 4 points on leaders Asante Kotoko.

On Monday, Kumasi Asante Kotoko will be looking to extend their lead at the top to 7 points when they take on Elmina Sharks at the Ndoum Stadium.
