The Ghanaian contributed 20 clearances, six tackles and six interceptions in defence.

Aidoo, 26, was key to Celta Vigo’s exploits in January, where he was even deployed as a right-back in the game against Real Betis.

He played in all four games for Celta Vigo in the month of January, completing three 90 minutes before being substituted in the game against Sevilla.

The centre-back was vital for Celta who secured seven points from a possible 12 in January to climb up to 12th on La Liga table.

Joseph Aidoo after picking up his award stated that the award means a lot to him, and it’ll be a source of confidence as the season progresses.

The former Genk defender is expected to return as Celta Vigo host Rayo Vallecano on Saturday.
