Referee banned for playing 25 added minutes, in which Hasaacas Ladies scored late equaliser

A Women’s Premier League referee has been suspended for four games for her decisions in a league game between Hasaacas Ladies and Berry Ladies on January 28, which ended 2-2.

The official, Lovia Doudu, was found guilty of playing 25 minutes of stoppage time at the end of the game, even though the fourth official had indicated there would be four extra minutes.

Hasaacas Ladies scored an equaliser during added time, after which the referee finally ended the match

Berry Ladies had complained to the GFA that 53 minutes were played at the end of normal time even though she was repeatedly told by her assistant that time was up.

They also protested that the referee had also failed to give a foul in the 70th minute which led to a Hasaacas goal.

The referee admitted that she missed the foul on the Barry Ladies player in the build-up to Hasaacas’ first goal.

She also explained that she “forgot to start her time when Berry Ladies goalkeeper got injured, and that led to the excess additional minutes played.”

The GFA however handed her a four-game suspension.
