Crystal Palace Chairman praises Tuchel’s handling of ‘impossible’ Chelsea situation

Crystal Palace chairman, Steve Parish has praised Thomas Tuchel, stating that the Chelsea manager is a “credit to the Premier League.”

He praised the Chelsea boss for how well he has handled the club’s precarious position following sanctions imposed on its Russian owner, Roman Abramovich.

Tuchel has faced a barrage of questions on the conflict in Ukraine from journalists and has been praised for his answers and positivity despite the difficult situation.

Following Chelsea’s win over Newcastle at the weekend Tuchel was again asked about the sanctions which many feel have put a strain on the running of the club, particularly for away matches including the upcoming away game in Lille.

“We can go by plane. If not, we go by train. If not, we go by bus. If not, I drive a seven-seater!” Tuchel said of the Lille game.

His comments impressed Steve Parish, who stated on Twitter that Tuchel had conducted himself impeccably, given the tough situation he had been put in.

“Not my business really to comment on other clubs but I feel compelled to say this guy has been thrown into a near-impossible situation and yet conducted himself impeccably. He’s a credit to the institution of Chelsea FC, its supporters, the Premier League and himself,” he tweeted.
