The 2022 edition of the Calcio Trade Ball has been launched.

The media event was held at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City in Accra on May 9, 2022, with dignitaries like the Minister of Youth Sports, Mustapha Ussif, the Italian Ambassador to Ghana, Daniela d’Orlandi and General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association, Prosper Harrison Addo among those in attendance.

This year’s event is on the theme; “Stop Player Exploitation; Save Football”.

The Calcio Trade Ball is an annual event organized by Arthur Legacy and its CEO and player agent Oliver Arthur and brings together Ghanaian players with links to Italian football as well as the Italian community in Ghana.

This year’s event will have a twist to it, where aside from the usual classic awards night, there will be an All-Star football match between Ghana XI and Africa XI.

Aside from the football match, there will be a seminar for upcoming and already established footballers on players’ exploitation and how the menace can be stopped in the country.

Speaking to the media, the Italian Ambassador to Ghana, Daniela d’Orlandi touched on the relationship between the countries and her commitment to the theme to help footballers reach their potential.

The Youth and Sports Minister, Mustapha Ussif also spoke on the relationship between Ghana and Italy and thanked Oliver Arthur for relaunching the Calcio Trade Ball after a four-year absence.

The GFA General Secretary, Prosper Harrison Addo finally addressed the media stating his outfit’s support for the project and his excitement to see the Calcio Trade Ball make a return.
