Players of Ghana Premier League giants, Accra Hearts of Oak have resumed training after recovering from severe flu which prompted the intervention of the Ghana Health Service.

The GHS released a statement to confirm that their preliminary investigations revealed the outbreak of an H3N2 virus, a type of Swine Flu, and subsequently recommended 7-day isolation for the affected players and staff.

Following a round of tests conducted on Wednesday, the club has now been cleared to continue preparations for their upcoming games.

The Communications Director for the club, Opare Addo, tells Citi Sports, they will be ready for their game against Karela United on Monday.

“Following a round of tests conducted by doctors from the Ghana Health Service, we have been given the greenlight to resume training and continue preparations for our games,” Opare Addo said.

“Everyone is fine now. The information we have received from the Ghana Football Association is that we will play our next game against Karela United on Monday afternoon at the Accra Sports Stadium, and that will be after the seven days that was given by the Ghana Health Service.
