Black Satellites head coach, Abdul Karim Zito has blamed the weather conditions in Niger for his side’s poor performance in their opening game against Nigeria in the WAFU Zone B tournament.

Ghana’s U-20 side lost 2-0 to Nigeria in their first game of the Championship ongoing in the West African country.

Goals from Aminu Mohammed and substitute Ahmed Abdullai condemned Zito’s men to defeat.

The defending Champions must now win their final game against Burkina Faso to progress to the semi-final.

“There are factors that affect games and one of them is the weather, when you look at the atmosphere here (Niger) and you compare it to Ghana, this place is hell.” Zito said.

“We used the Nigeria game to prepare ourselves, we are going to use the next match to make amendments because we have now adopted to the weather.

“The players were very mobile in Ghana but they couldn’t run here, it is all due to the climate here.

The final group game between Ghana and Burkina Faso will take place on May 14, 2022.
