Ghana’s 3-0 win over Madagascar saw the return of Mubarak Wakaso, whose inclusion in the squad originally earn some criticism.
However, there were no minutes for the only two players from the local league who were called up.
Augustine Okrah and Daniel Barnieh remained on the bench for the entire duration of the game despite Addo making five changes in the second half.
After the match, Addo was questioned on his decision not to give either player some minutes.
“For me, it’s not about local or not local, I don’t care. Whether you’re from Tamale or from Cape Coast it’s about performance and quality, this is the way I decide,” he said.
“When I see a player, especially in training or when I watch video clips or visit matches, this is what I look at. The players who started deserved to start.”
Both Okrah and Barnieh have been excluded from the team travelling to Angola for the match against the Central African Republic.
