Egypt will host the 2024 edition of the Beach Soccer African Cup of Nations, CAF has announced.

CAF said it received bids from only two countries – Morocco and Egypt – to host the competition and its Executive Committee settled on the Egyptians as the eventual hosts.

This will be the second time Egypt hosts the tournament in six years after it was staged there in 2018.

The next edition of the tournament in 2022 will be hosted by Mozambique.

Ghana is in the final round of qualifiers for the tournament and will face Egypt in a two-legged playoff for a place in Mozambique.

In all, 14 teams are taking part in the final round of qualifiers, with the seven winners making it through to the AFCON tournament in Mozambique.

In some other key matchups, defending champions, Senegal take on Cameroon while Cote d’Ivoire face Morocco.
