World Athletics Champs: Deborah Acquah misses out on finals in women’s long jump

Ghanaian athlete, Deborah Acquah has missed out on a place in the women’s long jump finals at the ongoing World Athletics Championships in Oregon, USA.

CONFIRMED:

Deborah Acquah misses out in the final of the women’s high jump.

She missed the automatic qualification mark of 6.75m and her distance does not rank in the top 12 jumps of a combination of Groups A and B. #Oregon2022 https://t.co/moAahT3RFF pic.twitter.com/qpXcgpgx09

The Ghanaian long jumper made a distance of 6.46m which is below the 6.75m automatic qualifying mark.

Acquah started off with two fault jumps before finally making a good jump but that was still not enough to get her through to the finals.

Attempt Number 2 for Deborah Acquah is another faulty jump.

Acquah is Ghana’s national record  holder in the women’s long jump with a jump of 6.89m.
