Amoah finished with a time of 20.40 which is his season best but wasn’t enough to make the cut for the semis in Oregon.

Joe Paul finished the race well below Joseph Fanhbulleh, Koki Ueyama, Jerome Brown and Joe Ferguson despite recording his fastest time of the year.

Earlier in the World Athletics Championships, Joseph Paul Amoah and compatriot, Benjamin Azamati missed out of the men’s 100m race with the former stating that ‘something weird always happens to his body ahead of major tournaments’.

Ghana will have another chance on the tracks with the team set to participate in the men’s 4x100m race later in the Championships.
