Joseph Paintsil marks 100th appearance for Genk in 4-1 Win

Ghanaian Winger Joseph Paintsil marked his 100th appearance for Belgian side KRC Genk in the team’s 4-1 win over Zulte Waregem in the Jupiler Pro League.

Paintsil lasted the entire duration of the game but missed out on adding to his goal tally (2) four games into the 2022-2023 Season. He has an assist to his name this season.

In the aftermath of the game, the 24 year old speedster stated on Twitter, “I’m happy to have played my 100th game last night for this amazing club KRC Genk with a win. On to the next one.”

Paintsil, who is playing in the final year of his contract, has made a strong start to the season participating in 23% of Genk’s league leading 13 goals scored. Genk ranks second behind Antwerp in the 18 team league standings.

His fine form puts him in good stead to make Ghana’s Black Stars team set to compete at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar; the former Tema Youth player was part of the Ghana team that competed at the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon.
