Ghanaian boxer, Abraham Mensah has won a silver medal in the Bantamweight division at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

The 19-year lost in the final to Northern Ireland’s Dylan James Eagleson, with judges calling it 5-0 in favour of Eagleson.

He becomes the second Ghanaian to win a silver medal at the Birmingham games, following fellow boxer Joseph Commey.

Joseph Commey who was slated to fight Jude Gallagher for a gold medal after qualifying to the finals of the men’s featherweight 54 – 57kg was forced to forfeit the bout.

This comes after the talented boxer suddenly fell ill on the eve of the fight.

Ghana has so far won 4 medals at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, two of them silver and two bronze.
