WAFU B CWCL Qualifiers: Ampem Darkoa Ladies beat USFA in opening game

Ghana Women’s Premier League champions, Ampem Darkoa Ladies, recorded an impressive 3-0 win over Burkina Faso’s, Union Sportive des forces Armees in their opening game of the WAFU B CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers on Sunday.

Goals from Elizabeth Owusuaa, Mavis Owusu and an own goal from USFA, secured all three points for the team and put them in 2nd place in Group B.

Ampem Darkoaa Ladies took an early lead 10 minutes into the first half via Elizabeth Owusuaa before Mariam Ouattara scored an own goal to give the Ghanaian champions a two-goal lead at the end of the first-half.

Mavis Owusu then scored late in the second-half to seal the win for Ampem Darkoa.

The Techiman-based side will face Bayelsa Queens in their second game on Wednesday, August 24.

The Nigerians saw off Athleta FC 5-0 in their first game to top Group B.
