Ghana Center Amida Brimah is set to make his competitive debut for new side Northern Akita Happinets in the Japan Basketball League on October 1.
The 2022-2023 Season commences on September 29 with Diamond Dolphins taking on SeaHorses Mikawa in the opening game.
Happinets plays Hokkaido in its opening game of the new season and Brimah is likely to play for Akita for the first time in the league after moving from Belgian side Filou Oostende.
The 6 foot 10 inch defensive player Brimah, helped Oostende win the Belgian pro League title for the 11th time in a row in the 2021-2022 Season.
Happinets finished sixth in the 11 team East standings last season with 31 wins and 23 losses but exited in the first round of the playoffs after losing to Ryukyu GK in the best of three games series.
Brimah adds Happinets to his extensive list of teams he has signed for since turning pro after graduating from University of Connecticut. He played briefly for NBA side Indiana Pacers in the 2019-2020 Season.
