It has been a very good week for Sunyani-based Division One side, Young Apostles Football Club, in the wake of Raymond Anokye Asante’s move to Udinese Calcio.
The young attacking midfielder sealed his move to the Italian Serie A side on Friday after completing his medicals. He travelled to Italy a few weeks back with Young Apostles President Samuel Anim Addo.
Anokye Asante is expected to feature prominently in the Udinese juniour side after spending two seasons with Young Apostles in Ghana’s National Division One League.
The announcement of Anokye Asante’s move comes on the back of fellow Young Apostles graduate Emmanuel Yeboah’s encouraging performance Romania’s CFR Cluj’s progression to the UEFA Europa Conference League main competition.
Cluj beat Maribor 1-0 in the final playoff round to get drawn in Group G alongside Slavia Prague from Czech Republic, Sivasspor from Turkey and Ballkani from Kosovo.
19-year-old Yeboah played 90 minutes in the win over Maribor before getting replaced in injury time by Karlo Muhar. Veteran Ghanaian midfielder Bismarck Adjei-Boateng lasted the entire duration of the win over Maribor.
