Betting company betPawa in partnership with the Gaming Commission has created a new calling centre to help curb addiction in the sports betting sector.

As part of the initiative they handed some IT equipment to the Gaming Commission to help create awareness and help curb the addiction to sports betting in Ghana.

This is part of betPawa’s plans to create a friendly environment for gamers and help educate persons involved in sports betting about the need to see betting as a form of entertainment and not create problems for themselves.

Speaking at the event, musician and stakeholder of betPawa, Oluwatosin Ajibade  popularly known as Mr. Eazi highlighted the company’s commitment to ensuring that punters bet responsibly.

“It is an undeniable fact that sports betting can be addictive. betPawa will do everything above ourselves to help put in the necessary infrastructure to ensure that no one suffers any harm through gaming, hence the setup of the Responsible Gaming Call Centre,” he said.

Speaking on behalf of the Gaming Commission, the Chairman, Peter Mireku thanked betPawa for helping them set up the call centre and highlighted their stance on ensuring a safe environment for patrons in Ghana.

BetPawa have over the years been activating a lot of Corporate Socially Responsible activities aimed at championing responsible gaming, an action which is high on the corporate agenda of the company, empowering customers to be economically independent and helping to imbibe the spirit of philanthropism in customers across its markets.

These CSR activities include the Dream Maker and WIN BIG, Give Back campaigns among many others.
