MultiChoice Ghana Ltd says Ghanaians will be offered the option of enjoying the 2022 FIFA World Cup commentary in a local language.

The Black Stars are involved in the global showpiece which kicks off from November 20 to December 18, 2022, in Qatar.

In an interview with Citi Sports at the sidelines of MultiChoice’s Media Showcase event held on September 1, the Managing Director for MultiChoice, Alex Okyere, indicated that having a World Cup commentary in Twi is to make the tournament interesting for the masses.

“Our other countries have had local commentaries for a long time. In Nigeria, they have had it in pidgin, Igbo and Yoruba. We also see the lot of people that listen to local language commentary in Ghana. It’s very interesting watching football and listening to the commentary in your local language.”

MultiChoice also assured Ghanaians that they would enjoy top class programming which could give them endless entertainment for the rest of the year.

Alex Okyere gave the assurance that prices of DSTV/GoTv products would be stable for the second half of 2022.

“All the other products and services on the market are increasing their prices but in order to cushion our subscribers and make them enjoy what is coming for the next six months, we have not increased our prices. That alone is good news. We are not increasing prices.”

Ghanaian fans will watch the Black Stars on DStv SuperSport and see how they will fare in Group H against Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea.
