Official photos of a training session from the Black Stars Camp strongly indicate the team is working to improve how it defends against set pieces.
The pictures could be a string hint to the fact that Otto Addo wants to get the players more prepared to defend set pieces after the team’s 0-3 loss to Brazil on Friday, September 23 at the Stade Oceane in Le Havre, France where the four time African champions conceded a Marquinhos goal from a corner kick and a free kick header from Richarlison.
All Brazil’s goals were scored in the first half in a showing that that underlined Brazil’s strengths on the day.
In the pictures, defenders Gideon Mensah, Daniel Amartey, Salisu Mohammed, Dennis Odoi and Joseph Aidoo and forwards, Inaki Williams and midfielder Elisha Owusu were spotted in what looked like a drill to get the team ready to defend set pieces.
The team took a lot of flak for defending poorly against set pieces in the Brazil game as Ghana continues preparation for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Ghana is in Group H with Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea at the World Cup.
