The FIFA World Cup has landed in Ghana as part of the initiative by Coca Cola to create a global buzz for  countries participating in the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

Met by the Minister for Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif, the Chief Executive of the National Sports Authority, Peter Twumasi and the GFA boss, Kurt Okraku, the trophy was received with open arms after it made a stop in Iran.

The FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola invites football fans to view the most iconic symbol in football and experience the real magic of the world’s largest, most anticipated sporting event – the FIFA World Cup 2022TM.

Ghana is the first African country to receive the trophy before the tour moves on to the other four participating countries on the continent.

The trophy will be in the West African country for two days before it moves to Senegal and Cameroon, who have also qualified for this year’s World Cup.

The Coca-Cola Company has had a long-standing relationship with FIFA since 1976 and has been an official sponsor of the FIFA World CupTM since 1978.

Coca-Cola has advertised at every FIFA World Cup stadium since 1950 and is a long-time supporter of football at all levels. This is the fifth time that Coca-Cola and FIFA have come together to bring the FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour by Coca-Cola to the world.
