betPawa GPL: Legon Cities rue lost momentum following league suspension

Legon Cities Football Club Public Relations Officer Kwame Dwomoh Agyeman is disappointed the betPawa Ghana Premier League has been halted.

According to him the club was in a good vein of form before the untimely suspension.

The 2022-2023 league season was halted after three rounds due to a court injunction filed by Ashanti Gold Sporting Club over human rights abuse stemming from a Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) ruling over the team’s alleged role in a match fixing scandal.

Prior to the legal disruption, Legon Cities had recorded 1-0 wins over Tamale City and Real Tamale United respectively after losing 0-1 to Medeama in the opening round.

Obviously, momentum was with the lads but with this injunction naturally it is disappointing but there is not much we can do about it for now. We would have wished that this did not happen obviously momentum was with us and we would have hoped to have carried on this form to subsequent matches” he stated.

Legon Cities PRO Kwame Agyeman
