Ghanaian winger David Atanga has given KV Oostende its fourth win of the 2022-2023 Belgian Jupiler Pro League by scoring the winning goal in Oostende’s 2-1 win over Zulte Waregem.

Atanga came off the bench to net the winner in the 80th minute off an assist from Cameron McGeehan 10 minutes after Jelle Vossen grabbed the equalizer.

The speedy winger played just 18 minutes in the win that moves Oostende to 14th place in the 18 team league standings with 14 points from four wins, two draws and eight losses.

The goal is the 25 year old’s fourth of the season in the league in 11 games this season; the former Red Bull Salzburg player has an assist to his name for the season.

This was Atanga’s first game back from suspension after picking up a red card in a 1-2 loss to KRC Genk on October 1 during a 12 minute cameo.

Oostende plays Club Brugge next on Saturday, October 29. Fellow Ghanaians Kamal Sowah and Dennis Odoi have played starring roles for Brugge this season.
