Ghanaian forward Felix Afena-Gyan has picked up an unspecified injury in his first start for US Cremonese in the Italian Serie A.

The young striker started in Cremonese’s 1-4 loss to Napoli in the last round of league games played; the win takes Napoli to the top spot while condemning Cremonese to 19th place in the 20 team league standings.

Afena-Gyan was forced off with the aforementioned injury in the 68th minute and was subsequently replaced by Gonzalo Escalante at the time the score stood at 1-1.

However, Cremonese conceded two goals in added on time after Napoli striker Giovanni Simeone had put Napoli up 2-1 in the 76th minute.

Cremonese is yet to win a game this season in nine outings losing six and drawing three; the team plays Spezia next in the league on October 20.

19 year old Afena-Gyan moved to Cremonese from AS Roma this offseason for 6 million euros with 3 million in potential add-ons.

He has two league goals in his career with both coming during his stint at Roma but is yet to score for Cremonese.
