Newly appointed Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club head coach Slavko Matic is expecting his team to score more goals to improve the team’s low goal count.

He said this in his first official statement since his appointment by the Phobia Club after his official unveiling at a press conference held on Wednesday, October 19.

The Serb is a former footballer and well-traveled football coach who has had coaching stints at clubs in Qatar, China and Slovenia aside his native Serbia.

“We must work hard, we must have team work, we must work smart and we must respect each other… Football is a simple game for smart people. I like to play offensive football. We must score more goals these five games this team scored three goals. Big clubs must play attractive football. Its not only about winning very important is the way you win the game” he said to the club’s official YouTube channel. (Click highlighted text to watch full interview)

Matic replaces sacked Samuel Boadu as head coach and will be assisted by David Ocloo who led Hearts through the team’s brief run in the CAF Confederations Cup that ended in a 1-3 aggregate loss to Malian side Real Bamako at the preliminary stage.
