Kudus not a bad option as a striker – Ajax manager

Kudus

Ajax Amsterdam Head Coach, Alfred Schreuder, has defended his decision to play versatile Ghanaian player Mohammed Kudus as a central striker.

He said this after seeing his Ajax side smash Excelsior, 7-1 in the Eredivisie, to maintain the team’s place at the top of the league standings.

Kudus scored the last of Ajax’s seven goals after his attempted pass to Brian Brobbey was blocked off but the ball fell to him. He slotted the ball into the net in the 81st minute prior to Excelsior’s consolation in the 90th minute.

Schreuder

However, Schreuder was supportive of Kudus as a central striker stating,

“Kudus as a striker – 8 goals in 8/9 games. You can’t tell me he’s a bad option as a striker.

Losing from Napoli is not about Kudus or Brobbey! Napoli just has more quality!”

Kudus is heavily tipped to represent Ghana at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
