Reading Football Club head coach Paul Ince has heaped praise on left full back Nesta Guinness-Walker as he looks to fill in for regular starter Baba Rahman who is injured.

Ghanaian left full back/ left wing back Rahman suffered a hamstring injury that forced him to miss Reading’s 3-1 win over Huddersfield in the English Championship.

Baba has since been ruled out for at least a month due to the injury and Ince expressed satisfaction with Guinness-Walker who stepped into Rahman’s role admirably.

“He lasted 95 minutes today and that’s a credit to himself – he does the right things and keeps himself fit by doing extra. This is an opportunity for him. We’ll be missing Baba for a month and this is an opportunity for him to cement his place. He’s a lovely kid” Ince said about 23 year old Guinness-Walker.

Rahman competed in Ghana’s high profile friendly game against Brazil in Le Havre, France that had the Black Stars lose 0-3 to the Brazilians.

He didn’t feature in the 1-0 win over Nicaragua during the international break and there is optimism he will recover in time to be available for selection for Ghana’s run in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Ghana has been drawn in Group H with Portugal, South Korea and Uruguay.
