General Secretary of the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana, Anthony Baffoe has urged the Ghana Football Association to replicate their ongoing pre-world cup activities when the Black Queens qualify for their version.

Several activities including walking with the legends, a dinner with ex-players, fasting, and praying have been held to whip up support for the Black Stars ahead of Qatar 2022.

“I want to make a case for women’s football. What we are doing, we are focusing on Qatar 2022.”

“All our blessings are with the players because we have been on the pitch before.”

“We will support them. But lets us also think about the women [Black Queens] when their time comes”.

“We will be with you to do the walk also for the ladies”. Baffoe said at a dinner with the legends organised by the GFA.

The Black Queens were eliminated by Nigeria in the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Mercy Tagoe’s team will subsequently miss the next Women’s World Cup to be held in Australia and New Zealand in 2023.

Ghana will be eyeing a return to the global tournament in 2027.
