Freiburg’s Daniel-Kofi Kyereh misses league win over muscular problems

Black Stars midfielder, Daniel-Kofi Kyereh missed SC Freiburg’s Bundesliga game against FC Cologne due to muscular problems.

Freiburg beat Cologne 2-0, a result which takes them second, a point behind league leaders Bayern Munich.

This is the second time Kyereh has missed gametime to the same injury that forced him to miss a 0-5 league loss to Bayern Munich and a 4-0 win over Nantes in the Europa League.

Kyereh also missed the final group stage game in the Europa League against FK Qarabag, which they drew to top Group G and earn automatic qualification spot to the next round.

The injury comes on the back of Kyereh getting named in the provisional 55-man Black Stars provisional squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Kyereh has featured prominently for Ghana’s Black Stars this year by competing at the 2021 AFCON and World Cup qualifiers.

November 14 is the deadline date for the announcement of the final 26-man list for nations set to compete at this year’s World Cup.

Ghana is in Group H with Portugal, South Korea and Uruguay.
