Ghanaian midfielder Salis Abdul Samed has scored an own goal in RC Lens’ 2-1 win over Clermont Foot in the French Ligue 1.

Lens recorded its 11th win in 15 games in the league with victory over Clermont moving the team to second place in the 20 team league rankings.

Samed scored the own goal in the 38th minute and was shown a yellow card in the 66th minute; Samed has started in all 15 league games for Lens this season.

Goals from teammates Wesley Said in the 59th minute and Seko Fofana in the 68th minute proved enough to overturn the result and condemn Clermont to its sixth loss of the season.

Fellow Ghanaian player Alidu Seidu played out the entire game for Clermont; Seidu recently extended his contract with the club to June, 2025.

Seidu

Samed and Seidu were named in Ghana Black Stars 55 man provisional squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar and has been included in the 26 man squad to compete in the tournament later this month.

The official list is to be announced on Monday, November 14 by Black Stars head coach Otto Addo.
