FIFA High Performance Specialist, Faisal Chibsah is expecting teams competing in this year’s FIFA World Cup to lean towards scoring goals through set pieces.

He said this in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports prior to the start of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

This is the second time an Asian nation is hosting the tournament.

Japan and South Korea co hosted the competition in 2002.

The Ghanaian football analyst spoke extensively on what type of World Cup the 2022 edition is likely to turn out considering the limited preparatory time for competing nations and Qatar’s weather conditions.

“I think set pieces will become a thing again at this year’s World Cup. The teams that are able to prepare well in dead ball situations can probably take advantage of this and score more goals but am expecting low scoring games” he said.

Ghana is competing in this year’s World Cup and is set to play its opening game on Thursday, November 24 against Portugal in Group H.
