Ghanaian striker Abdul-Aziz Yakubu has won Rio Ave Football Club’s Player of the Month Award for November on the back of his exploits in the month.

In two league games prior to the 2022 FIFA World Cup enforced league break, Yakubu scored in Rio Ave’s 1-0 win over Arouca.

He played 78 minutes in the win and played 90 minutes in Rio Ave’s 1-0 win over Boavista and was instrumental in the victory.

This marks the second time this season the 24 year old has won the award after picking up the award in the month of September.

He scored twice and registered an assist in three league games played in September to pick up the award.

The former Estoril player has scored six goals and assisted three goals in 13 Portuguese League games as he made a run for a place in the Black Stars 2022 FIFA World Cup squad.

He didn’t make the cut and is gearing to see out the remainder of the 2022-2023 Portuguese League season. Rio Ave plays Maritimo on December 28 when league action returns in Portugal.
