Ghana Premier League (GPL) side Asante Kotoko have appointed experienced gaffer Orlando Wellington as a new assistant coach for the first team.

He joins the technical team headed by Burkina Faso trainer Seydou Zerbo for the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season, which is already in session.

“We are delighted to welcome on board Coach ORLANDO WELLINGTON as first team assistant coach. Welcome”, a statement on the club’s Twitter account announced.

Wellington joins with rich experience from the Ghanaian league and international competitions.

He was assistant coach to Sellas Tetteh in Ghana’s 2009 U-20 AFCON-winning campaign in Rwanda.

He also led Ghana Premier League side, Berekum Chelsea to a GPL triumph in 2010.

The gaffer also has managerial experience with Kpando Heart of Lions during their stint in the GPL.

Wellington last managed Division 1 side Wa Suntaa FC and he has been unattached since parting ways with the club
