I’ll support whoever is named as next Black Stars head coach – Ali Jarah

Former Ghana goalkeeper, Ali Jarah has indicated he will support whoever is appointed as the Black Stars’ head coach in the wake of Otto Addo’s exit from the role.

Addo honoured his word prior to the start of the tournament to leave the post after Ghana’s 2022 FIFA World Cup campaign in Qatar came to an end.

Ghana got eliminated at the group stage after picking up three points from three games in Group H, with Addo announcing his departure in the post-game presser after the final game against Uruguay, to focus solely on his coaching work with German league side Borussia Dortmund.

“They knew definitely after the tournament Otto Addo will be out so let’s hope and pray for them to choose the best for the national team. We have the technical directorship, we have three backups over there, and they can pick one out of them to continue the job. I am a Ghanaian, whoever comes I will support. The only thing is we support for the national team to win trophies, that’s my prayer” he stated.

Jarah

Jarah featured prominently in Ghana’s juvenile teams, and won the FIFA Under 17 World Cup in 1991 prior to sustaining a career-ending injury; he has gone on to set up a goalkeeping academy.

Ghana (white) lost 0-2 to Uruguay in the final game to crash out of the World Cup.
