Ghana’s Western Regional Minister Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah has awarded Black Stars midfielder Mohammed Kudus a commemorative gold coin.

The gold coin was awarded to the Ajax midfielder for his string of brilliant performances in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Mr. Darko-Mensah presented the gold medal to Kudus in a ceremony that was attended by fellow Right to Dream Academy products Ernest Nuamah and Kamaldeen Sulemana.

Kudus starred for the Black Stars in Group H, scoring two goals and registering an assist in three games against Portugal, South Korea and Uruguay.

He became the first Ghanaian player to score twice in a FIFA World Cup game after scoring a brace in Ghana’s 3-2 win over South Korea, a game in which he won the Man of the Match Award.

Despite Kudus’ highly rated performances, the Black Stars missed out on the Round of 16 stage after suffering a 0-2 loss to Uruguay.
