The words of Ghana defender Joseph Aidoo backing under fire Celta Vigo head coach Carlos Carvalhal  and vowing to get out of a bad run of results have been heeded to by his teammates as Celta grabbed an important win over Athletic Bilbao.

In the final game of Round 19 in La Liga, Celta grabbed a 1-0 win over Bilbao with Celta striker Iago Aspas getting the winning goal in the 71st minute.

The win is Celta’s fifth of the season in 19 games and moves the team to 16th place in the 20 team La Liga standings. Celta has five draws and nine losses this season.

In the lead up to the game, Black Stars defender Aidoo voiced his support for Carvalhal and gave assurance the team will fight to improve its results.

“Carlos Carvalhal is a very good coach, a father, the way he communicates and explains things to us… helps me a lot. The situation we’re in is because of us. We don’t want to be nervous and we’re going to fight until the end to get out of this” he said, according to Mundo Celeste.
