Ghanaian boxer George “ Red Tiger” Ashie (33-5-1, 25 KOs) faces American Boxer Alexis “Lex” Roca (21-1, 13 KOs) on Saturday 28th January at the YouTube Theater in Inglewood, California, with the World Boxing Association (WBA) North American Boxing Organization (NABO) welterweight title on the line.

Ashie replaces American boxer, Antony Young who was initially slated to take on Roca in the Sports Streaming service, DAZN’s main event but had to sit it out due to a nose injury.

The two boxers were speaking to the media ahead of Saturday’s bout, with Ashie confident and grateful for the chance to compete.

“This is going to be Oscar De La Hoya vs. Ike Quartey II, and this time it’s going to Ghana not Mexico. It’s going to be a war. I want to thank all my fans in Ghana. I have this opportunity and I’m not going to let it slide out of my hands. These opportunities are life-changing and I’m here to stay,” he said at Golden Boy and DAZN event.

George Ashie made his pro debut in 2003 and has gone won the African Boxing Union Super Featherweight title defeating Taofik Bisuga in a second round knock-out

He also claimed the Universal Boxing Council’s Super Featherweight title by defeating Giorgi Mitchedlishvili.
