BPLWK16: Aduana extend lead at the top; Hearts suffer defeat to RTU

Matchweek 16 in the GHPL saw Aduana Stars maintaining their form by winning by 2-0 against Nsoatreman.

Goals from Akwasi Mensah Gabriel and Richards Afriyie in each half respectfully secured the result for the league leaders.

Hearts of Oak dropped vital points away to Real Tamale, losing by a lone goal away from home. Abdul Umar Manaf’s 83rd minute wonder strike strike rendered the men from Accra winless in their last two games and left them at sixth on the table.

Berekum Chelsea edged their tie beating Bechem United 1-0 courtesy of Fravien Kongoza’s first half injury time strike.

Bibiani Gold Stars put two past Karela United in the first half which was enough to seal a convincing victory for them.

Great Olympics failed to pick up maximum points for the second week running even though they took the lead through Micheal Osei in the first half but saw it cancelled out late in the second half by Collins Boah as they were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Dreams FC.

Elsewhere Legon Cities put 3 past struggling King Fisal who only managed to pull one back through Benjamin Bature as their tie ended 3-1. Jonathan Attuquaye, Felix Kweku Hammond and Nasiru Morro were all on target for Legon Cities.

Medeama were 2-0 victor’s at home to Samartex thanks to a 50th minute strike from Jonathan Sowah and a 68th minute Vincent Atinga spot kick

Tamale City were 3-0 winners against Kotoku Royals in Saturday’s only game.

Asante Kotoko take on Accra Lions at home in the final game of the match week as they look to bounce back from defeat and move into second place
