Atsu wanted school opening moved to June so Black Stars teammates could attend – Director

Global Director of Arms Around The Child Organization, Ellie Milner, has stated the late Christian Atsu wanted the opening of a school he was funding opened in June so his Black Stars teammates could be present to witness the event.

Milner disclosed this in an exclusive interview with CITI Sports after Atsu was declared dead in the earthquakes that hit Turkey in early February.

Prior to his death, Atsu served as a key ambassador for the charity organization and was leading fundraising activities to construct a school for children in Senya Bereku.

“He really wanted to get the school finished quickly and he was so pleased with the progress so far. About five hours later he emailed just to say if we could move the opening to June then he would be able to come, have a big ceremony and he’d bring some of his Black Stars friends” she said.
