Always ready to be useful to the Black Stars as a starter or not- Antoine Semenyo

Black Stars forward Antoine Semenyo isn’t too worried whether he starts or not for Ghana’s National Men’s Football team as long as he continues to be useful to the four time African champions.

He said this after scoring the winner in Ghana’s 1-0 win over Angola in the first of two 2023 AFCON qualification games played at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on Thursday, March 23.

Semenyo pounced on a loose ball in the penalty box and smashed home the winner in added on time to keep Ghana atop the Group E standings with seven points from three games.

The AFC Bournemouth player replaced Athletic Bilbao striker Inaki Williams in the 69th minute and had a couple of scoring opportunities go waste before bagging his debut goal for the Black Stars in a home fixture.

“If I am not selected I make sure when am on the bench and am coming on, I make sure am ready I have warmed up well and I make sure am effective for the team. I always want to be useful when am starting or on the bench as a goal scorer so am happy today” he said in the post game interview.
